Up to 2 GB per file.
How to use this tool
Bundle files or folders into a ZIP archive entirely in your browser.
Open the Create ZIP tool
Visit makemyzip.com/create-zip. Nothing installs and nothing uploads.
Drop your files
Drag files or a whole folder onto the dropzone, or click to pick them. Folder structure is preserved inside the ZIP.
Pick a compression level
Choose Store, Fast, Normal, or Max. Use Store for already-compressed media (JPEG, MP4, MP3); use Max for source code, logs, and text.
Name the output
Type the archive name (e.g. project.zip). The default works if you do not care.
Create and download
Click Create ZIP. The browser builds the archive locally and offers it as a download — your files never leave the page.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Every byte stays in your browser tab. The archive is built locally with the JavaScript ZIP engine and downloaded straight from memory.
Can I add a whole folder?
Yes. Use the folder picker or drop a folder onto the dropzone. Subdirectories and relative paths are kept intact inside the ZIP.
Which compression level should I pick?
Normal is the safe default. Pick Store for files that are already compressed (JPEG, MP4, MP3) — extra compression cannot shrink them and only wastes CPU. Pick Max for source code, logs, and text.
Is there a file-size limit?
There is no hard limit, but archives over ~2 GB may exhaust the browser tab’s memory because everything is processed in RAM.
